Kebanyakan Blackberry sudah memiliki GPS. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuannya, RIM mengenalkan tiga layanan berbasis local bagi para pengembang untuk menciptakan aplikasi lokasi yang responsive. Ketiganya adalah Cell Site Geolocation,Geocoding, dan Waktu Perjalanan. Cell Site Geolocation adalah alternative GPS, yakni penentuan posisi pengguna dilakukan berdasarkan menara selular. Aplikasi ini lebih cepat dibandingkan GPS serta lebih hemat baterai.
Geocoding adalah layanan yang mengubah koordinat lokasi dengan sebuah alamat untuk dipakai di aplikasi Blackberry. Adapun Waktu Perjalanan akan menentukan berapa waktu yang diperlukan untuk menempuh suatu perjalanan,mengkalkulasi jarak,batas kecepatan, dan kondisi lalu lintas secara agregat.
